Background
We were founded in 2015, after some of the Trustees had experinced voluteering at the Jacaranda School in Malawi.

recent projects
We drilled and built a solar powered well, so that the children at the Jacaranda School have unlimited access to free, clean drinking water.
1997 - Marie da Silva founds the Jacaranda School for AIDS orphans in her family home in Malawi.
2013 - By now the school is providing 400 students entirely free primary, secondary and teriary education, as well medical care and other support.
2014 - Duncan Darroch-Thompson sppende three months voluteering, and resolves to help the school.
2015 - Jacaranda UK Foundation is founded as UK Charity and begins to raise money. Its main aims are in line with those of the Jacaranda School:

Our aim is to support Malawian children orphaned by AIDS, and to make it possible for them to suppoert themselves through education.

Working at the Jacaranda School made me realise how much can be achived by a dedicated team, and how important education is in the process of rescuing children who have been abandodned, and giving them the skills to make their own way in the world.
I started the Jacaranda UK Foundation so that we in the UK can help
